Unlock 2.0- Containment zones shall remain under lockdown till 31-07-2020

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) vide an order dated 29th June 2020 announced fresh guidelines for Unlock 2. The new guidelines will come into effect from 1st July 2020 which aims on the phased re-opening of activities. As per the Order, with instructions of the National Disaster Management Authority, more activities were being allowed in a calibrated manner in areas outside containment zones. Inside containment zones, lockdown measures have been extended till 31st July 2020. The guidelines states that-

  1. Lockdown shall remain in force in containment zones till 31st July 2020. In containment zones, only essential activities are allowed.
  2. In areas outside containment zones, all activities are permitted except the following- (a) School, colleges and educational institutions shall remain closed till 31st July 2020. Online classes are permitted and encouraged. (b)Cinema halls, gyms, entertainment parks, swimming pool, theatres, bar, auditorium, assembly halls and similar places shall remain closed. (c)Social/ political/ religious/ Cultural/ sports/ entertainment/ academic and other large congregations are not permitted. (d) There shall be night curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. except for essential activities.
  3. State and Union Territories may prohibit certain activities outside containment zones or impose any restrictions deem necessary.
  4. Person above 65 years of age, pregnant woman and children bellow 10 years are advised to stay at home.
  5. To ensure safety in workplaces, employer to ensure that “Arogya Setu” app is installed by all employee.
  6. Shops to ensure social distancing among customers.
  7. As far as possible, practice of work from home shall be practiced.
  8. Staggering of business hours to be followed.
  9. All screening, hygiene, hand wash and sanitizers to be made available in all entry and exit points.
  10. Frequent sanitizing of entire workplace to be followed.
  11. Person in charge of workplace shall ensure social distancing, gap between shift, staggering the lunch break of staff etc.
