- FSSAI licence/ registration application shall be processed by e-inspection during the period of lockdown till 31st July 2020. This process is granted because during COVID-19 pandemic, it is not possible to conduct physical inspection of food unit by FSSAI which may cause delay in grant of registration/licence. - Food business operators (FBOs) whose licence/registration is expired or expiring during lockdown period are permitted to temporarily operate their food business till 31st July 2020. However, FBOs must have submitted their application for license / registration during the period of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and have valid receipt of FSSAI licence/registration application with 17-digit application reference number (ARN).
- FSSAI allows grace period till 31st July 2020 for Food Business Operators (FBOs) for applying for renewal of licence/ registration which are expired or expiring during the period from 22nd March 2020 till 31st July 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
