COVID-19- Karnataka imposes restrictions on 9 Districts including Bangalore and Mangalore

The Government of Karnataka vide an order dated 22nd March 2020 imposes restrictions on business on 9 districts namely Bangalore (Urban); Bangalore (Rural); Kalaburagi; Chikkaballapur; Mysuru, Madikeri; Dharwad; Mangaluru; and Belagavi from 23rd March 2020 to 31st March 2020 midnight to prevent spread of COVID-19 desease. The restrictions include-

  1. All shops, commercial establishments, workshop, godowns dealing with non-essential services to be closed.
  2. To ensure social distance, all labour intensive industries to work at 50% of their strength on rotational basis. Employers are advised not to remove workers and advised sanction of paid leave to the remaining workers on these days to the remaining workers.
  3. All information technology and bio-technology units shall ensure work from home. However, it is not applicable to the units where it is not possible to allow work from home; and for the staff dealing with critical and essential services.
  4. All AC bus service of Road Transport Corporation and private operators to be stopped.
  5. All interstate and inter district services within the said 9 districts to be suspended.
  6. Essential service for the purpose of this order includes-
  7. food, ration, milk, vegetable, groceries, meat, fish, fruit market.
  8. Transport of all goods
  9. Police and fire service
  10. Govt Offices, ULB and panchayati Raj institutions offices, postal services.
  11. Electricity, water and municipal services.
  12. Bank, ATM and Telecom.
  13. Home delivery of Food, pharmaceutical, medical equipment’s.
  14. Take away from restaurants.
  15. Agriculture, sericulture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fishery related shops and markets.
  16. Canteen services provided by Government and local bodies.
