FSSAI Terminates Registration facility through Common Service Centres

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) vide a public notice dated 4th March 2020 has terminated the facility of filling FSSAI registration application though Common Service Centres (CSC) w.e.f. 31st March 2020. Common Service Centres (CSC) are physical facilities/centres for delivering Government of India’s e-Services to rural and remote locations.

Previously, FSSAI has entered into agreement with Common Service Centre e-Governance Services India Ltd (CSC) for facilitating filing of the registration application and the payment of the fee through the CSC. But now FSSAI has ended the agreement and already stopped the facility of filling new registration through CSC from 1st March 2020. However, the CSC executives shall provide printouts of registration certificate to FBOs who has already applied their application through CSC.

In this connection, to enable Food Business Operators (FBOs) to make online payment for License/ Registration fee, the FSSAI has made a provision in the online Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS). As per the provision; FBOs  can directly make online applications for FSSAI Registration Certificates by visiting the FLRS website with the URL https://foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in and submitting the requisite fee online.
