Government of Haryana has taken step to revise the contribution rate to be paid by employer and employee towards Labour Welfare Fund. The Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965 which is applicable to the state of Haryana also, constitutes LWF for financing and conducting activities to promote the welfare of labour and their dependent family members. However, it has been found that the LWF contribution in Haryana is not sufficient to fulfill the purpose and objects of the Fund. So, to make the LWF more meaningful and achieve its purpose, the Punjab Labour Welfare Fund (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2019 has been introduced in Haryana Legislative Assembly.
This Bill has received the assent of the Governor of Haryana on 8th March 2019 and become effective from the same day i.e. 8th March 2019 as a valid legislation. The changes brought to the LWF are tabulated below:
