Not getting PF benefits, say Metro workers

The BMRCL employees union has accused the management of depriving workers of mandatory Employees’ Provident Fund benefits and forcing them to go in for superannuation scheme floated in partnership with private banks. Employers are mandated to deduct contributions to EPF from their employees’ salary every month and pay a matching sum as their contribution. It is mandatory in all organizations with 20 or more employees, but the union alleged that a majority of BMRCL employees, who are eligible for the benefit, have been denied the same. Read Original Post >>
